Toy Wars

Rarely do we buy any new toys for the girls. They have so many that we cycle through them every few days and then they're new again. However, we've gotten to the point where they're wanting to play with more interactive things that light up and make noise {aka, the reason that your parents stopped buying batteries by the time you were 2 years old}. This week while doing our routine Wal-Mart run, Daddy and I decided to get the girls a new toy. It's a ball. The ball sings and lights up and rolls on its own {so I'm not really sure if you even need the kid to play with it as it does everything by itself}. We brought it home and put it on the floor in front of Bettye Katheryne. Aurora was clear across the room and then this happened...

"but mom, I was playing with that."

I swear they do have teeth

I've been trying and trying for week now to get a photo of the girls showing their teeth. I have failed. I promise that they are there. Just stick your {preferably clean} finger in one of their mouths for a few seconds and they will find you. So far, here's the amazing photographic un-evidence of said teeth...

Our little Zebra

We are one blanket loving family. Seriously, I must have 10 throw blankets in the den at any given time and, YES, I am the proud owner of a royal blue Snuggie {thanks Dad!}. Yesterday, Kenneth called me into the den to see our local zebra. Turns out, he was not talking about a news story covering the Northwest Florida Zoo, he was talking about OUR zebra. Isn't she darling?

Yes, that's the Snuggie you see in the background...jealous?

BK is such a big girl

Sisters in Pajamas

Recently, I've started putting the girls in footie pajamas to sleep. They used to sleep in onesies, but would wake up when they got out from under the covers. The footie PJs seemed to have helped, but if anyone wants to hang out at 1:00, 2:00, 4:00 and 7:00 AM, Aurora is game. Anyways, the PJs are so cute and the girls are darling in them.

I didn't notice this until later. I guess BK isn't as innocent as we thought.

A visit to see Lucy

On Monday, the girls and I headed off to visit with Fran and Lucy. Fran and I have actually known each other since fourth grade in Ms. Gardiner's class. You might ask how I remember the teacher's name from so long ago. Well, I looked it up in the yearbook. Yes, this yearbook.

Green Valley Elementary, 1990

So, what did we look like back when we were 10?

Me

Fran

Sorry Fran, I couldn't resist. Now, Fran and I have baby girls born 2.5 months apart. Fran is such a good friend that she brought her very pregnant self to the hospital to visit me while I was on bed rest. We get together every few weeks and it's amazing to watch these girls grow so quickly. This week, we went to Fran's house where BK became enamored with their dogs. She would laugh out loud just watching them walk around. Since our immediate plans include not even the foggiest idea of adding an animal to the mix anytime soon, we'll have to visit Fran and Lucy again to get her fix. Here's a few shots of the girls from Monday.

Baby Lucy!

BK kept trying to give Lucy kisses. Her attempts were cut short by mommy. BK has teeth, so her kisses are a little sharp.

15 comments...or else!

So, I hear a lot of people telling me that they enjoy the blog and watch for updates on the girls and I love that. I've also installed a 'Live Traffic Feed' so I can see who's visiting. Yes, I know who you are Ridgeland, MS and Birmingham, AL. However, I'm clueless on Houma, LA and West Grove, PA. We get very few comments on this blog and it's time for that to change.

No more posts until we get 15 comments on THIS post. Just let us know who you are and how you got here. That's part of the fun of having a blog!

Yes, even if you are Ridgeland, MS or Birmingham, AL, please comment too. We love to hear from you guys just as much as {I hope} you enjoy watching the blog.

ETA: 1/3 of the way there, and I'm serious people!

Naked Baby Alert!

So, I debated about posting this video. It's so cute and I started this blog to share the every day life of my girls with my family who cannot see them every day. So, I decided to go ahead with it. This is Aurora, after her bath. Both girls are trying to crawl with all of their might. In this video, she has flipped over, gotten up on all fours and is going to rock her way across the room. We joke that Aurora is the 'rocker' and Bettye Katheryne is the 'roller' since she flips all over the place {and let me tell you, she is quick!}. Enjoy...

And don't think for one second that her boyfriends won't be shown this video later. It's a little thing we like to call "motivation" though others might call it black mail.
